Under a leaden sky
The
geese in V formation
Head for
warmer climes
An
annual migration.
Under a snowy blanket
The earth is hard as rock
Yet
it can hear the ticking
Of every season’s clock.
Under a shining star
The weary Magi travel
Visiting two kings
And one comes quite unraveled.
Under a mother’s gaze
A baby lies asleep
With angels celebrating
With promises to keep.
Under normal circumstances
Few believe in change
Yet change is all around them
Their radar’s out of range.
Under a Christmas tree
One gift that changed us all
A gift that keeps on giving
And with the gift a call.
Our natures’ better angels
Have called us to believe,
To give up fear based thinking
To respond and to receive.
For hope must have an object
Lest it be wishful thought
So Heaven sends a question–
What is it God hath wrought ?
The answer is so simple
As gentle as a dove
Obviously overlooked
The answer is just Love.
Faith, hope and love
The greatest saved for last
Love came down at Christmas
And cannot be surpassed.
