Publisher removes “N” word from Mark Twain’s Huckleberry Finn. “Injun” is also getting the axe as political correctness rewrites classic literature that, in the context of its time, can actually be seen as a remarkable statement against racism. Don’t get me wrong. I hate the “N” word and am not too fond of “injun” either but this strikes me as a little creepy.
NBC puts capes on NYC statues to promote new superhero show. The show, of course, is called The Cape. I for one have grown tired of oh-so-clever marketing gimmicks. Advice to the networks: Just put on some good shows with strong plots, interesting characters and a touch of heart and the audience will come. The rest is just spinning your wheels — and ours. BTW, if they’re looking for new superheroes to base shows on, there’s this guy.
