Fostering faith through film. The Goodness Reigns website, dedicated to promoting Catholic values through film,  has launched what it’s calling a People’s Choice Award webpage. The page features inspirational videos on the Catholic faith that are created by and for youth and young adults.

Visitors to  www.goodnessreigns.com/vote/ have until May 1 to watch featured short film and vote on their favorites. The winner of the People’s Choice Award will receive $1,000 in cash.

But that’s just the beginning. Once the contest is over, all the featured films will remain online indefinitely as the site will become a growing repository of short films on the Catholic faith available to the general public.

The effort is geared specifically toward using the art of movie making  to reach young people and help them grow in their Catholic faith.  Contest participants have created short films in the following subject areas: church teachings, the sacraments, church history (including the lives of the saints) and examples of the present-day missionary spirit found within the church.
