Credit reader Chris Vaughen for recalling two shows featuring priests in prominent roles that I missed in my recent list.

Chris’ edition include Have Faith, a half-hour sitcom which which aired on ABC starred Joel Higgins (Silver Spoons), Ron Carey (Barney Miller) and Stephen Furst way back in 1989.

Also, and how could I have forgotten, Saturday Night Live which featured Don Novello’s Father Guido Sarducci character in the late seventies? That character, of course, has never really gone away — recently giving the benediction at Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert’s Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
