http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9GGdCsktwNgTalk about aging gracefully and with a sense of humor.
No one epitomizes that better than the legendary movie and TV actor Abe Vigoda.
Vigoda is famous for his role as Sal Tessio in The Godfather, but also starred on Broadway and had major roles on TV’s Barney Miller and Fish.
A Wikipedia entry describes him spot on: “His trademark hunched posture and slow delivery of lines made him appear older than he really was.”
Vigoda, mistakenly pronounced dead by People magazine as early as 1982, turned that negative into a positive as a beloved figure who is still working into his 90’s.
It was great to see Vigoda again Wednesday on The Today Show as part of a classy farewell to the departing co-anchor Meredith Viera.
His appearances on Conan O’Brien, now on late-night on TBS, are always a welcome sight too.
Abe Vigoda … for old time sakes.
