I wrote it last night on Facebook, and I’ll write it again here now on Beliefnet.

Geraldo Rivera of FOX News didn’t need to be standing out in the rain for his entire Saturday night newscast.

It’s one thing for reporters who are assigned to report on the hurricane to brave the rainy and windy conditions.

It’s oddly entertaining to watch reporters try to get complete sentences out while being pounded by the hurricane.

You feel bad for them, but like a train wreck, you HAVE to watch.

Which takes me to Geraldo … he didn’t HAVE to stand out on the streets of New York City to do his entire show Saturday night.

I bet you he was just showing off, similar to Hurricane Irene, below.

I bet it was HIS decision to be out there, and after about 1/2 hour it looks pretty foolish.

Plus, the poor cameraman and other news assistants who have to live with that decision.

Those poor saps…. or sops as it were.

Just a few more victims of Geraldo’s sensationalism, at times.
