It’s never too late for a jobs bill, even three years into Barack Obama’s presidency.
Obama himself tried to make that point, over and over, 17 times in fact, during his speech before Congress and the American people Thursday night.
VP Joe Biden echoed the point the next morning on the news talk shows, not surprisingly.
But is this the gang that can’t shoot straight, so to speak?
The speech, after all, aired 4p on the West Coast, well before most people on the left coast could see it.
It also came on the opening night of the NFL season, so it seemed forced and ill-timed after being moved around.
Can you also trust the same people who forced a health-care bill, unread by so many, into law?
It would also be interesting to know how this bill, reportedly $450 billion in cost, is already paid for as Biden claimed.
The so-called stimulus, which came in at over $800 billion did little to jump-start the economy, so will throwing more money—that we don’t have–at the problem help?
Finally, the president himself may be losing his luster as the messenger of hope and change.
He rarely smiles, shows little optimism and seems a bit angry at times.
