When the new Beliefnet community launches later this month, there will be dozens of ways you or your group can use the site. Here are a few ways Prayer Groups can take advantage of the new tools.

Create a Profile
Begin by creating your own Beliefnet profile. Tell as much or as little about yourself as you’re comfortable with.

Make Friends
If you already have a real-life prayer group you’d like to move to Beliefnet, every member will need to have a Beliefnet account in order to log in and view group happenings. If you’re starting a brand new prayer group, you can meet other people on Beliefnet interested in prayer by doing an interest search for the word “prayer.” Make sure “prayer” is also listed in your own interests so people can find you. Once you find other members with similar interests, you can become friends with them and invite them to join your group.

Sign Up for Feeds
Beliefnet has a daily feed that sends the latest prayer circles straight to your profile, blog, or journal. You can also come back to the Community News blog, where Beliefnet editors post roundups of prayer circles every week.

Post Content
If you’re suggesting your own person or group to pray for, you can write all the relevant info on your group page. You can add your prayers on the group page or make it more personal by writing prayers in your blog or journal.

Go Beyond Text
Beliefnet’s easy-to-use tools mean you can post photos, audio, or video. Want to include a picture of the person you’re praying for? Go ahead and upload it. Or if your group meets to pray for other topics, but not for a specific person, post audio versions of your favorite prayers. Do you have audio of a particularly beautiful devotional? It takes almost no time to add it to your page.
