Meet JumboJava
Many people come to Beliefnet in a time of trial, asking others to pray for them. They then stick around and return the favor, praying for other members. But few make the kind of impression JumboJava has made. Midwesterner JumboJava, who goes by JJ for short, started a thread in the Christianity area called The Healing Room where people can regularly come in and share their prayers, ask for help from others, post inspiring photographs and quotes, and more. Rather than starting a new topic every time someone solicits prayers, The Healing Room is a constant, ongoing conversation where the members know and support each other on a regular basis.
What Others Say About Her
“Her thread “The Healing Room” (around for quite some time), with her many inspirational poems and lessons, has picked me up many times when I needed it,” says reader moonstarwoman, who adds that JJ lives up to her name by making “a mean cup of coffee.”
Reader Hatman concurs: “despite her tribulations at the hands (or fingers, in this case) of some of my less-than-enlightened Christian brethren, [she] is an inspiring example of patience and ego-bubble-poppin’ insight to me.”
What JumboJava Has to Say
Here’s the first post of “The Healing Room,” which has thrived on Beliefnet since August 2005, where JJ sums up her hopes for the thread:

There are many threads asking for prayers in need of healing and support. This board is so active that many fall back into further pages and get lost. So often the ones in need have difficulty posting and keeping thier requests updated. So here I propose a thread for them all. This thread is for those in need of prayer, of healing of support. It doesnt matter which faith or religion or denomination anyone is. This place is for everyone. Let this be a Prayer Room. A Healing Room. A place of Comfort, of Support, of Peace. Of Love.

If you want to see JJ in action, you can visit “The Healing Room” here or try to find her browsing around in the Christianity Debate forum.
