Hours before a controversial immigration law goes into effect in Arizona, a judge blocks key provisions aimed at undocumented immigrants.
The law still goes into effect Thursday, but police are no longer required to check the immigration status of detainees while enforcing other laws. The judge also put on hold a part of the law making it a crime for immigrants not to have their papers on them to prove if they are in Arizona legally.
