To forgive is to acknowledge fallibility–my own or another person’s. Perhaps forgiveness can be real without being total–a forgiveness where resentment still lurks in some corner, but does not triumph. Does this deserve the name of forgiveness? Discuss a situation in your life when you forgave but remained angry and resentful. As you write, look deeply at how you felt and still feel about this incident.
