In my entry here last Sunday I said that Lucifer, so some of the standard forms of Christian dogma tells us, was once an Angel of Light. Yet he is said to have fallen in love with his own magnificence — and then to have even imagined that he was God’s Equal. And so God condemned him to everlasting damnation for the offense of hubris in the face of God’s glory.
I said then that in this Sunday’s entry I would ask a key question that such a scenario raises. m going to explore the question. But first, an Update…
I am back in the States this weekend for the first time since September 17. What a journey it has been! First to Italy, then to Ukraine, then to Germany, then to the United Kingdom, then to the Czech Republic, then back to Germany, then to France, then back to the U.K., then to The Netherlands, and…finally…here to Scottsdale!
Whew!
It was very special spending time again in Venice, Berlin, London, Paris, and Amsterdam…AND…it is so nice to be back in the United States!
I guess it is built in with all of us — it always feels wonderful to be back home…wherever our Home happens to be. It is not that one place is “better” than another…it’s just that it feels so good to be back where one originated…back to the Place of Origin.
I was musing when the plane landed that this is what it must be like when… .
..we go Home in the biggest way, at the end of our lives. Of course, our lives never “end” in any real sense, but our experience of this physical incarnation will come to an end one day and we will go back Home for a long-awaited reunion…
This is all described so well in the final CwG dialogue book, HOME WITH GOD in a Life That Never Ends. If you have not read that book as yet, I strongly recommend it. It has become one of the most popular of the nine books in the CwG body of work, and I can understand why. It describes in detail our soul’s experience at the moment of what we call “death” — and in the “time” thereafter…where there is no “time” as we know it.
I am looking forward soooo very much to being with my Mom and Dad again, and my brother Wayne, and all the wonderful family and friends that have traveled with me during this Passage! Being “on the road” has been fun, but I know it will be wonderful to be back Home again…
Now…to that question.
Do you think God wants at least as much for us as we want for our own children?
The standard Christian dogma has it that the Devil was created out of Lucifer’s deep hubris in imagining that he was as great and as wonderful and as powerful as God. But isn’t that what all parents everywhere want for their children?
Don’t we want our children to match us, and even to exceed us, in wonder and brilliance and achievement? Of course we do. So why in the world would God be upset if one of God’s “children” — namely, the Angel Lucifer, declared himself to be God’s equal? MY God would be delighted!
Oh, and while we’re on the subject of Satan…don’t you find it interesting that the gender of God is often questioned (some “New Age” people hate it when you refer to God exclusively as “He”), but the gender of the Devil never is…?
What does THAT reveal….?
