I love fall, and it finally arrives Saturday. And as I told you yesterday, I’m not quite ready to slip into sweaters and boots, but I am quite ready for a fall feast.
Food is the best part of the fall season — starting with all that fresh apple pie and corn-on-the-cob in September, gobs of Halloween candy in October, and piles of turkey, mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving in November.
Also, we’re kicking off fall with the Sun in Libra, which actually rules the kidneys. If that sounds weird, it’s not. Each body part is ruled by a zodiac sign, and in this case it’s the kidneys, which means eating food that supports the kidneys is the thing to do this time of year.
Pumpkin and raisins are two common fall foods that are healthy and support the kidneys, so I’ve dug up these two great recipes for bread pudding and spicy pumpkin pasta.
This Saturday night we can all dish these up as a yummy way to greet the first official day of fall. And if you’re like me, you won’t stop eating all the way through until spring.
