I walked into the middle of a movie today thinking I could “pick it up” half way through. I ended up leaving frustrated not knowing the complete story.
It occurred to me that is how it is when we judge others. We never know the complete story of someone else’s life. We don’t know the beginning; we don’t know the end. We don’t know what motivates them or what the purpose of their lives may be.
So why do we judge them? Judging others is really just an indictment on ourselves. It is more of a statement about us that it is about them. How could it not be? We don’t know enough of their story to make an informed decision. We never will because it’s not our job.
It’s something I certainly need to work on.
