Phil Robertson, the beloved patriarch of the Robertson family and star of the hit reality series Duck Dynasty, has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, his family revealed on their podcast Unashamed with the Robertson Family. The news comes as Robertson battles a serious blood disorder that has significantly impacted his health.

Phil’s son, Jase Robertson, shared the difficult update on the podcast, explaining that his father’s condition is deteriorating. “Phil’s not doing well. The doctors have told us he has some sort of blood disease causing all kinds of problems, and now, early stages of Alzheimer’s. It’s like everything is accelerating, and he’s struggling,” Jase said.

The once vibrant storyteller and entrepreneur, who co-founded the Duck Commander Company and inspired millions with his faith, can no longer participate in the family podcast due to his condition. “He misses it. He misses the stories we tell,” Jase said, adding that Phil is often in severe pain and unable to engage as he once did.

Phil Robertson became a household name during Duck Dynasty’s run from 2012 to 2017, which set cable rating records and turned his family into pop culture icons. Beyond his television fame, Phil is known for his unwavering faith and boldness in proclaiming biblical truths, even when it led to controversy.

In 2013, he faced public backlash and a temporary suspension from A&E after quoting scripture on sin during a GQ interview. Despite the fallout, Phil stood firm in his beliefs. “They asked me a question, and I quoted a Bible verse. That’s all I did,” he explained in his 2022 book Uncanceled: Finding Meaning and Peace in a Culture of Accusations, Shame, and Condemnation. “The Bible teaches us to love thy neighbor, even with their mistakes.”

Phil’s story of resilience amid trials has inspired countless fans, and his latest battle is no different. While Alzheimer’s disease and his blood condition have no cure, the Robertson family continues to trust in God’s plan. “We’re trying to make him a little more comfortable,” Jase said, expressing gratitude for the prayers and support pouring in from their faith community.

Through the ups and downs, Phil has remained an outspoken advocate for living a life rooted in faith and forgiveness. He has often shared how his relationship with Christ transformed his life, especially in his younger years when he battled addiction and poor decisions.

Today, his family is leaning on those same principles of faith and community that Phil has long preached. “We’re so thankful for the prayers being sent our way,” Jase said. For the Robertson family, faith isn’t just a belief—it’s a way of life, and they are determined to walk this road together with God’s strength.
