Allow me to be the first to congratulate my brother deacons from the Diocese of Brooklyn on the one month anniversary of our ordination.

As this report from the Brooklyn Tablet details, we received the sacrament of Holy Orders on Saturday, May 19th, at the Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Brooklyn. I can’t believe it’s been four weeks already.

Time flies when you’re having fun.

Ours is an unusually large class; 36 men were ordained that day, from the English-language track, and another 16 the following weekend, from the Spanish-language track.

We spent the better part of five years together, and it still seems odd not to see those familiar faces every week.

Is it too early to plan a reunion?
