Who knew?

When I was a kid, we had them in the classroom: flimsy cardboard things that were tacked to the bulletin board, and you could fold over the doors and count down the days to Christmas.

But that’s so 20th century.

Now, Advent calendars have gone high tech. I did some Googling and found enough online Advent calendars to keep us counting down to Christmas until the next millennium.

The folks at Beliefnet have put together a very engaging one, with readings and even music.

I also found one that is educational , plus a parish-based version from Illinois and this low-key Episcopalian one, with some lovely art from the National Cathedral.

Finally, Yahoo! has a ton of Advent calendars with their very own directory.

Surf around. You’re bound to find one you like.

Take your time. You have another 23 days to explore…
