Big news in the media world, as the nation’s largest Catholic publisher announces that it has absorbed another publishing house:

Catholic publisher Our Sunday Visitor Inc. says it has acquired Harcourt Religion Publishers from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Publishing Co.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed in an announcement Wednesday.

Huntington-based Our Sunday Visitor, which publishes a national weekly newspaper, magazines, books and other religious materials, says the acquisition will solidify its ability to reach million of Catholics while extending the reach of Harcourt’s Catholic school curriculum.

Our Sunday Visitor says it will retain Harcourt’s existing management team, support staff, field representatives and product line.

Our Sunday Visitor says it is the nation’s largest Catholic publisher.
