Those icons of the ’70s, James Taylor and Carole King, are hitting the road, and have just released a live concert album. They’re chatting up their tour in Monday’s New York Times. But you can see the results for yourself below.

After nearly 40 years, they sound almost exactly the same — and Carole King, nearing her 70th birthday, is just plain amazing.  There is sweetness here, and poignancy, and a genuine love for this piece of music that helped to define them both, way back when. 

And I’ll only add something my parents would have said when they were my age, listening to songs from their youth: they don’t write them like this anymore.  (I feel like such an old fogey.)
