His interview on “Currents” last night was both potent and poignant. (I just got back from DC and a meeting with the Communications Committee of the USCCB. So, big kudos to my Assistant News Director Shu-Fy Pongnon — who is herself of Haitiain descent — for coordinating coverage of this extraordinary story in my absence.) Brooklyn has a huge, very devoted and vibrant Haitian-American community. They are beyond grieving at this moment. I can only imagine what they are going through.
