This summer, several fast food workers across America have staged one-day strikes to demand that the current Federal minimum wage, which is $7.25 per hour,  be raised to $15 per hour.  The protests have highlighted the economic hardships of Americans who work for minimum wage. In the end, these strikes are helping to challenge assumptions about who minimum wage earners are.
