To my dad, William Marquardt, a WWII veteran and from the greatest generation. He was so proud to serve in the U.S. Navy. Thank you for joining the fight at a young age and defeating the enemy!

To my brother, Captain Gary Marquardt who lost his life during the Viet Nam conflict, you are missed every day! We remember you through your children. We remember your combat service and how your life ended through an act of terrorism. We will never forgot your sacrifice.

To all our men and women who have bravely fought and served, thank you! Your sacrifice and service are deeply appreciated and the reason we are remain a free country. On this day, we salute you! But every time we meet one of you who has served, it’s an honor!
