Sometimes we don’t have to look very far to get a message for the day.
In my neighborhood on the Fifth of July, the legacy of Firecracker Day included not only the husks of rockets and catherine wheels and multi-chambered bangers, but a blossoming of sidewalk art by the kids.
Walking the dogs in the early morning, I come to a bright star, chalked on the cement. The wavy lines around it make it look like it’s floating in the sea.
Beyond it, to the right, is a very cheerful sun. I recall that, when the Sun trump comes up in a Tarot reading, I sometimes have the feeling that – whatever difficulties may be indicated elsewhere – all will come out well when the Sun is smiling on you. The sidewalk sun is positively beaming.
Next to the sun, this message, with lights like birthday cake candles on top:
WELCOME TO THE PEACE, LOVE AND LIGHT HOUSE
Now that’s an invitation I’ll accept from the world on any day!
