In my handwritten journals, I let the boy artist in me out to play. I have started scanning some of the images. Here are a few from my journal for the spring of 2003.

 

“Sea Gate to the Island of Women”  provided a portal for an excellent wide-awake lucid dream journey, aided by shamanic drumming.

 

 

“Moon Tiger” is a character I’ve met a few times. He is not a vegetarian.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

“Aerial Rescue on Highway One” was a dream in which I had to put on hawk wings to save someone falling from a great height. Fortunately, I had had plenty of flight training. Red-tailed hawk lent me his wings in the lucid night journey, back in the late 198os, that took me to the Native arendiwanen (“woman of power”) I call Island Woman.

 

 

My sketches often appear on the left pages of my journals, like the “House of Light” here:

 

But sometimes they are so lively they burst through wherever they please, like this face that has recurred in my dreams and visions for as far back as I can remember:
