Did you know that by making one small change over time, there can be big results? You can apply this rule to weight loss. I know, I do it all the time. I’ve suggested this to many of my clients, and they’ve seen results, too.
Here’s a big one: stop drinking sodas for a month, and you can lose 1-2 pounds. If you drink one or more a day, you could save lots and lots of calories in a month’s time. Substitute seltzer or club soda with a squeeze of lemon or lime.
Another: if you have an afternoon cookie, candy bar or cake to get you through that 4 o’clock lull, having an apple, banana or some grapes instead over a month’s time may also help you lose a few pounds.
A late night “snack” of a couple of frozen burritos, or sandwich may also be causing you to gain, or not lose weight. That’s like a whole other meal.
All it takes is an elimination of 1,500 calories to equal one lost pound. So, on a purely caloric level, not having 1,500 calories a day will theoretically cause a seven pound weight loss. Of course, real life is not so linear as a calorie equation!
Just keep it in mind, though, and you may see some results by just making a few small changes.
