Yes, it is possible to eat out at a restaurant and save money (and calories too).  The trick is to only order one thing – an entree.

Skip the appetizer; they are often expensive, too big, and have lots of calories.

Skip dessert; often way too much fat and fattening.

Have an entrée that is inexpensive and healthier, such as a chicken dish with lots of spices instead of sauces; baked or broiled instead of fried or sauteed.  Have it with vegetables, pasta or over rice.

Skip the drinks!  Have water (from the tap) with a slice of lemon or lime from the bar — it’s free!

Another idea is to order a big salad and share it with someone, along with the entrée.  Salads are pretty inexpensive, and good for us.
