Many of my clients have told me that they go to fast food restaurants fairly often.  One person I am working with says she goes everyday after work and has a couple of burgers (make that 4).  She also told me she went through their drive-in for breakfast and had a sausage muffin with egg and cheese.

This habit is expensive, not only in dollars but it’s expensive to your health – it costs a lot in every way.

A way to save money, and eat better is to avoid or eliminate this fast food splurge by planning meals ahead.  Have good, healthy food ready when you are.  When you cook at home, cook enough for a few meals then either have them in the refrigerator  at home or work, or freeze them for later.  Instead of a fast food drive-through burger, have a vegetable burger all ready to heat and eat.  Instead of fries, have a baked-potato standing by, ready to eat.  Go ahead and put ketchup on it.

The other thing to do is to eat every 2-3 hours, thereby eliminating the desperate craving that can drive you to the drive-through.  When you’re not in a hunger panic, you have better judgment and actions.
