I have some ideas for those of you who say they have tried everything to lose weight and get healthier.  Here are two:

First, check with your doctor to make sure you’re totally OK, and don’t have some underlying health condition that may be affecting your weight. Then, ask yourself if you’re really eating in a healthy, MODERATE way. What is that? Look at my “Joy of Weight Loss” starter plan on Beliefnet or on my website under the “tips” section, or in my book, The Joy of Weight Loss. The USDA food Pyramid/guide to serving sizes is also a good reference. You may think you’re eating less, but the reality may be quite different, and you may not realize it.

Next, are you being active enough? To really lose weight you need to be moderately active every day. Start slowly, and work up to at least 30 minutes per day. To really lose weight, 60 minutes a day of joyous activity would be great, if you, God, and your doctor agree.
