Significant pesticide residues were found on fruits and vegetables in a recent study conducted by the Chicago Tribune and the USDA.

Perhaps as many as 1/3 of our produce in America contains lots of residual pesticides!  Here’s a list of them, at ABC News.com.

Not to worry, though, it’s also reported that you can wash them off by washing each item and scrubbing it, also using some salt water, and a mixture of vinegar and water, with a scrub brush.

Better yet, if possible, buy organic fruits and vegetables.  Above all, don’t let the worry about residual pesticides worry you so much that you eat fewer fruits and vegetables.  It’s worse to eat fattier, unhealthy foods that will contribute to obesity, overweight and a host of other problems.
