You are a believer in God, right? Or by another name, Higher Power, Lord, Spirit – that great Creator of you and me, who is always there no matter what may come. You believe in God and His power, right? Have you put your total trust in your Creator? Have you put your faith and belief into total trust and action?
You may wake up in the morning full of anxiety, and even fear. Worried about what may come today, or any day. Worried about making enough money and paying the bills. Concerned about the family, the relationships, or lack thereof. You may be dreading what may come at work. The boss and your performance review that’s coming up. The raise you need so bad but are afraid to ask. The fears are limitless.
Or it may be anxiety you are experiencing, without any particular reason. Anxious about what the future may hold. Concerned about your safety, and the stark statistical possibilities of demise or pain at any given moment. Perhaps it’s anxiousness about something imagined that’s not real at all. The feeling is real, but anxiety itself isn’t; it is only a feeling.
You may be worried about your weight and health. Those are real, and tangible fears, not anxieties. Those fears are cause for action, not just for fearing. If you fear something is unsafe, pay attention – it probably is unsafe.
Today, I want to encourage you to put your total beliefs into high-gear action. Use that faith in our Higher-Powered God to get you through that fear or anxiety onto other more important things – like getting your work done without letting fear ruin your life. Use that fear fueled by faith to get you talking about the problem to others, your family, your trusted friends, your pastor or rabbi, imam or acharya. That’s the first step to relieving it, and experiencing the full range of living.
Consider Proverbs 3:5, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” What does that mean to YOU? “With all your heart” to me means trusting God with my whole heart and all my body, but that’s about love, as that trust comes from the “heart.” “Understanding,” means my mind, too. Trust 100% in the Lord, God, our Creator and Higher Power. We may not understand the grace that God is giving us. We may not comprehend the lessons our great Father and Mother, and Holy Spirit are teaching us, but if we trust God completely, with all our being, then all will be right. Not according to how we understand it – we’re limited as humans. Trusting completely in God, in His infinite and unknowable ways, will always guide us right.
Therefore, as a believer, there’s no need to fear. Put that fear, and that anxiety again and again completely into God’s care, and stop being anxious or worried in the way we understand things, as they’re limited. The fear and anxiety is only there to encourage us to put our faith into action.
So the next time you feel afraid, or anxious, say a prayer, “I trust you completely God, please show me the way.” Let us know what happens. I am sure you’ll feel the presence of God in your life, in ways far beyond your own understanding; filled with infinite love and possibilities.
