Congratulations, Mala, for really “getting it.”  She commented on my Weight Loss Truths posting recently.  That’s why I picked her for our Tip of the Week:

“Not only did you not put on your weight overnight, it is more difficult to lose what you put, than to put it on! Believe me, when I say, Been There done that. I am, happy however, to say I’ve lost over ten pounds and more importantly two dress sizes, in the last two months. How? Exercising while watching what I ate. Please do not “DIET.” It just won’t work. Sooner or later your metabolism will adjust to the new input, and you’ll still be the same size and weight. Most of us cannot afford personal trainers, but your Parks and Recreations department will have suitable exercise classes for your age group, and I urge you to join one, persevere, walk, do anything in your power to get a little exercise. Believe me it works! All the best! Love.”

I love it that Mala hasn’t spent money ordering “Magic Bullet” or gimmick products.  She simply and sensibly just began exercising, using her body, going to her local Parks and Recreation programs, and through conscious eating in a healthy way.  No crash diets.  No starvation.  No magic food combinations, pills, shakes, concoctions.

Most importantly, Mala reminds us that becoming and staying healthier takes time.

Thanks, Mala, for sharing it with us.  You’re in my prayers, and YOU, dear reader, are too.
