Today, All Saint’s Day, I’m thankful for the wind, today.
I love how it blows life into everything – especially me!
I love how the wind moves the clouds, and the leaves on the trees, and
how the birds ride on it.
Invisible, yet there, giving life and moving life.
Just like God.
I think of the Hebrew word for Spirit – Ruach – which means wind. I
think of the Hindu idea of Prana, the breath of life that courses
through our bodies and minds. The Christian concept of Pneuma, of air,
of Spirit, which Jesus gave up when he died on the cross–it is the
air, the wind that breathes life. It is the air that goes out of us
when it’s time to leave this life.
