Ever read package serving sizes?  Want to lose weight, get fit, and eat less? Have you been shocked to find out that they’re usually smaller than your diet has been in the past?    That’s the subject of Day 32 on the Give-Back Diet.

Here’s a video about servings sizes, and portions I made for you…

What I am getting to here is to become conscious and mindful of how much you are eating, and also the density of what you’re putting into your body.  Becoming aware of how many calories and nutrients in the foods you eat can really help you be mindful.  Being mindful of foods will automatically help you eat a better balanced, healthier diet.

I tapped the subject of serving sizes in the video.  Now, let’s go further with portions.  I found a really cool and very helpful guide to portions, with lots of tips and suggestions.  It’s from the U.S. Weight Control Information Network.  Check it out here

ACTION PLAN:

— Start reading labels and become aware of calories, fat, and serving sizes.  See if you can put that information to use today.  Try serving yourself the serving size.  Get a plate, portion only the amount you choose to eat.  Put the box away, and eat only as much as you portion for yourself.  See what happens!

— Add calories and measurements to your daily food and activity log.

— Please inspire us my posting some of what you’ve learned about serving ssizes and portions.  Post below.
