Who got kicked off American idol may 12?  I did not write about the American Idol performance program the other night, as I thought it is just too tricky to predict who will be sent home.  Last week I was incorrect; may be that’s why I didn’t hazard a guess!

I should have predicted though, as I would have called it: it was Michael Lynche.  As I’ve said several times this season, I like Michael a lot, and he’s a really good singer.  He’s just not that significantly unique, though, unfortunately. A kind personality and new baby, with charm, just wasn’t enough.

I will give him props for rising to the occasion, though.  He did give it his all, and that was evident.  Lynche had auditioned in previous seasons, but didn’t get far.  This time, he did make the cut, but jinxed himself over-and-over by saying things like, “I’ll be going home soon… and my goal is to be in the top three.”  Kara chided him for that one, explaining that it wasn’t the top three that should be the goal, but the entire competition.
