I noticed that a sometimes-fatal medical condition resulting from a physical trauma, or surgery – something called fat embolism – was in the season finale of “House.”
Anything with the word “fat” in it always gets my attention – because I have always been involved with not being fat. Or not remaining fat, that is.  But a fat embolism is something that can happen to people who are not overweight or obese.
This season finale of House involved a major accident (I won’t say what because I don’t want to spoil it for those who you who are waiting to see it on a DVR or online.)  House had to do emergency surgery on a patient, which is unlike him to perform surgery, ever. It wasn’t successful due to a fat embolism: a hunk of fat that ended-up in the patient’s arteries, that evidently went to her brain and caused a massive stroke.
I mention this, because the potential for stroke or heart disease is something that those of us who struggle with obesity and overweight need to be aware of.
The point is to take good care of ourselves as much as possible.  Eat mostly vegetables and fruits, limiting meat, saturated fat, sugar, and carbohydrates.   See our doctors regularly.  Check cholesterol levels, and get them lower if necessary.  Watch our weight, and do our best to maintain a healthier weight.  Don’t smoke; quit if you do (that’s a major contributor to cardiovascular disease and stroke).
As for House, the season ended on a very interesting twist between House and Cuddy, but I won’t say what!
