“As you think you become,” said Descartes. “To think is to create,” is another variation. I know that’s true. Rhonda Burne in “The Secret” gathered a bunch of experts, and they said it too – calling the power of mind, “the Law of Attraction.” It’s been said by countless sages over the ages, from Hindu and Vedic tradition, to the Psalms, to Norman Vincent Peale in “the Power of Positive Thinking.”
Simply, it works like this when it comes to losing weight and being healthy: Visualize that you are getting better and better, and it will happen. See yourself thinner (not perfect and skinny, just healthy, please). See yourself in a smaller pants or dress size. Mentally picture yourself without a bulging stomach. Picture yourself at your best, within reason, and it’ll happen.
Now, believe that you have the God-given power to accomplish the future that you see. KNOW that with God’s help, you can do it.
If you use this wonderful picture of yourself all the time, especially when it comes to motivating moments (such as snack or mealtimes), and when you need some self-encouragement to get out and work-out – it will come true.
Just like anything that requires practice, imagine yourself thinner and healthier over and over, and it will become true. By the grace of God you will be your better self!
