In my car commute this morning, after trying to merge back onto the highway and being made to wait by lots of selfish motorists, I am reminded of the Golden Rule.

“Do unto others as you want them to do unto you.”

Gosh, I’d just stopped at a gas station and was trying to make my way back to the main road. But no; no one would let me in!  Car after car sped up. It seemed they couldn’t care less about anyone other than themselves.

Haven’t they ever needed to merge or change lanes?  What if I saw one of them trying to merge?  And just sped up arrogantly?

I would let them in. If anything I’d want to avoid an accident! I do my best to be aware of others and their needs. Just as I need others to give me a break or helping hand.

We are all in this life together. We need to help each other merge–either into the fast lane or at least onto life’s highway.
