Excerpts from the dialogue:
Whatever our profession or position in life, we can go to the sick and love much, but we must regard common sense and common humanity before evoking healing from the outstretched arm of righteousness.
If we are to heal by the Spirit, we can’t hide the skill in some religious doctrine, or human pattern of behavior. Don’t repeat inspiring words over and over, as if the more they are said the better the chances of healing. Don’t be captivated by pious personalities, favorite quotes, or cyclical arguments.
Healing is a consequence of discovering Truth, Christ. The discovery is made after searching new ways of thinking with a gracious, grateful, pure intent. Humility must replace arrogance or the desire for status. It becomes pointless to seek Truth for the loaves and the fish. (Matt. 14 & 15, Mark 6, Luke 9, John 6)
Gather the facts of being from divine Mind. But, because Mind-science is ahead of its time, be reasonable and honest, and practice it as you understand it, a step at a time. Don’t expect an instant state of spirituality. We don’t require an infant to instantly become an adult. The sooner we take the steps in divine Science the better, and we can move from infancy to adulthood with a consistency. Divine Science interprets whole healing, even uplifting the human race to purity, strength, and health.
Mental energy parallels recuperative power. Be assured that you can accomplish the good you hope for and that the body will follow in the direction Mind points out. Remember that Life is God and God is omnipotent. We can do as Christ Jesus did and speak to disease as though we have authority over it, leaving Soul to master the false evidence of the physical senses. Soul will assert its claims over mortality and disease. The same Principle cures both sin and sickness.
