Not only is it difficult to understand a God we can’t physically control, but we’ve also been hardwired to materialize our prayers by saying them out loud or repeating them ad nauseam….We can feel the aspiration, humility, gratitude, and love which our words express, and this God accepts. We can get our act together and help our self. We can welcome new knowledge and apply it in our prayers.”
