Our County American Legion Post hosted their annual Schoolmasters Dinner yesterday to recognize youth who participated in one of the many Legion sponsored activities: baseball, Girl’s State, Boy’s State, oratorical. Eagle Scout earners were also recognized.

The Legion Commander thanked the youth and their parents, saying, “It’s refreshing to meet such good kids. You are our future. I applaud and salute you. America needs you.”

Dignity was indeed present at the event. To wrap up the celebration of youth, we all stood, held hands, and sang “God Bless America.”
