Some people create more garbage than others, but waste happens. Fortunately, society values more and more the ideas of recycling, reusing, and repurposing. And in the meantime, we still need to take out the garbage, please.

Whether we are taking out the garbage physically or not, depending on who’s responsibility it is, we can still clean the garbage out of our minds.

If not removed, the trash of envy, obsession, and idolatry can accumulate and get stinky.

However, we’ve been given the power to eliminate thoughts that make us lazy or lonesome. We can keep our minds clean by acting on thoughts that help others and ourselves. We can take out mental trash anytime during the day or night.

Keeping our minds clean also helps us see and keep in order healthy, happy thoughts that truly belong to us and everyone.

Psalms 37:8-9

Bridle your anger, trash your wrath, cool your pipes—it only makes things worse. Before long the crooks will be bankrupt; God-investors will soon own the store. (The Message)
