The fight to challenge ObamaCare is over at the Supreme Court. Now, the focal point is Congress – and specifically the U.S. House of Representatives.
House Speaker John Boehner put it bluntly: “This has to be ripped out by its roots. This is government taking over the entire health industry. The American people do not want to go down this path. It has to be ripped out and we need to start over one step at a time.”
A growing number of Americans understand that the Supreme Court got this one wrong. And, a clear majority of Americans now support repeal of ObamaCare.
The White House, of course, continues to spin the Supreme Court decision. The fact is the only reason the health care law was held constitutional is because a majority of the Justices declared that the individual mandate – which forces Americans to purchase health insurance – is a tax. And, according to the majority, such a tax provision is constitutional.
Those are the facts. But to the White House, that doesn’t matter. White House Chief of Staff Jack Lew refused to acknowledge the penalty is a tax. He won’t call it a tax. In fact, he asserted health care law will not result in a tax increase on the middle class, despite a Congressional Budget Office report that it would result in a roughly $27 million increase over the next 10 years.
It is time to stand up and let the House know that it’s time to repeal ObamaCare, which represents a massive pro-abortion tax increase on the American people. It violates our religious liberty and is bad policy for America. Add your name to our petition now. Urge the House to repeal ObamaCare when it votes on July 11th.
