Finding Jesus: Faith, Fact and Forgery (Episode 2) – The Bones of John the Baptist air tonight (3/8) on CNN @ 9:00 PM (ET)
Mini-Review: Seems to me to be a bit sparser on the science side than last week’s premiere which looked at investigations into the authenticity of the Shroud of Turin. While that side of the documentary seems somewhat padded, the recreations of John the Baptist’s life, particularly regarding his relationship to Jesus, are quite interesting. True, it plays more like an episode of the late Leonard Nimoy’s old In Search of… show than anything you’d traditionally expect to see on CNN but then they are shaking things up over there.
The Bones of John the Baptist presents John as a man of deep faith, humility and courage. He was a man who wasn’t afraid to speak truth to power. His fearlessness in the face of the political correctness of his time is inspirational in ours. Episode 2 of Finding Jesus is Highly Recommended.
