Here’s the latest dispatch from the crossroads of faith and culture:

Meryl Streep deserves another award for this. The actress is daring to suggest that the phrase “toxic masculinity” may actually be toxic to boys. Good for her! While the video above makes the point that “toxic masculinity” refers to certain bad behaviors (i.e. bullying, sexism, etc.), linking the words “toxic”and “masculinity” does, in fact, suggest that masculinity itself is toxic.  How about actually linking the word “toxic” to the actual behavior as opposed to the genetic identity of a group of people. How about we replace “toxic masculinity” with “toxic aggression”? Just a thought.
