The sparkling Janice Taylor of the Our Lady of Weight Loss blog feels strongly that skipping breakfast is not a good idea. She further believes that dehydration can cause irritability and headaches. To solve both problems (feed two birds with one seed, as it were), she offers a lovely, hydrating breakfast smoothie recipe:
Ingredients:
1 medium ripe banana, peeled
3/4 cup pineapple juice (no sugar added; natural juice)
1/2 cup plain low-fat or no-fat yogurt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup strawberries, rinsed, stems removed
Instructions:
Break banana into small pieces and put in the blender with the pineapple juice, yogurt, vanilla extract and strawberries. Blend until smooth. Divide between two glasses.
