“With the wind beneath your wings, do you need to flap?” 

I love finding wisdom-tidbits in random places, and the makers of natural products from iced tea to hair care seem to especially love tucking such snippets into the otherwise boring text on the outside of their containers.  The quote above came from my “Sunset Styling Lotion” (yum) by Giovanni Organic Hair Care.

It’s a nice morning thought, a good one to contemplate while running scented fingers through damp hair.  If I have faith of any kind–faith in myself, faith in a divine power, faith in angels or nature or quarks–can I release even a little the extent to which I’m flapping my arms to stay afloat in life? 

In other words, without becoming passive and giving it all over to the wind, do I have to work so hard?  Do you?
