The other night, my sister and I went to see Grant-Lee Phillips, whose songwriting and lilting folk-rock sound we first fell in love with when we saw him on The Gilmore Girls (he played the recurring role of town troubadour). The concert was a total delight–I’m blown away every time I hear one man and one guitar completely fill a club with such full, complex sound.
One of the songs from his new album, Little Moon, is a sweet, un-cynical, not-too-peppy song called “Good Morning, Happiness.” Just the tone I want to set in the morning–I plan to set my alarm clock to play it tomorrow!
