In memory of J.D. Salinger, the “Catcher in the Rye” author who died today at age 91, a quote of his that my friend April just reminded me of:
“The most singular difference between happiness and joy is that happiness is a solid and joy is a liquid.”
Thanks, J.D., you wonderful reclusive genius, for giving us something to chew on even as we say goodbye to you.
