sand mandalaThis beautiful sand mandala was created by Tibetan Drepung Loseling Monks at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City. It was constructed as a vehicle to generate compassion and healing, and as reminder of impermanence of reality. Last week, in a ceremony that involved multiphonic chanting, the monks destroyed the mandala. This picture is a wonderful reminder to appreciate the beauty we see each day. – Text and Photo by Ansley Roan
