God-o-Meter wondered about the birth of Mike Huckabee’s new ad celebrating the birth of Jesus, so it asked Huckabee senior advisor Charmaine Yoest. Her response:
“The ad was born when [campaign manager] Chip Saltsman and the Governor looked at the calendar and asked the question: “How do you campaign just before Christmas?” This ad is meant to be our acknowledgment that Christmas is more important than politics. Christmas isn’t an event to managed, or spun — the birth of Christ is something to be celebrated, no matter how close to a primary. Making that set of values explicit was how the ad was born.”
Brilliant, thinks God-o-Meter. Your thoughts?
